Notes:
1. Recognise triad and its position: The examiner will play on the piano any major or minor in root position or an inversion, or any interrupted triad in root position, the candidate will recognise the triad, stating its position.
You may practise this in the OAEC's Aural series where you find more challenge with augmented triad included:2. Recognise cadences in Major key
You may practise this in our OAEC's Aural series in two lessons:
3. Memory: Well, generally it's not difficult to memorise a 3 bar phrase of music in 2 minutes, since you're up to this stage, but improving our musical memory is a complicated and long process. For the time being, I can't think of a simple lesson that can help!
I guess you have to buy an AMEB's Aural book to practise yourself!
4. Hum or sing the lower part. The examiner will play a two-part phrase with a few passing notes. Candidate then hum or sing from memory the lower part.
