usic dictation is one of the best practice for music students to improve their aural perception. It's the compulsory subject in music conservatory in most countries in the world.

The preliminary stage of music dictation is recognising the pitch which ones can practise with some programs such as Eartest Online by Brent Hugh. Then students can move to this series for the first stage, which starts with 2 bar melody dictation. The lessons then extend step by step to the standard 16 bar melody, then 2 part and 3 part dictation.

There are two sections: practice and test -

• In the practice section, the tunes or each part of it can be played several times so students can practise their listening.
• In the test section, the tune or each part of it can be played twice only.

Please read the instruction in each lesson carefully so you can make it in the first attempts.
